On September 11th, an event occured that would change the world forever. The twin towers, along with the pentagon, were hit
by commercial airliners that had been hijacked by terrorists. Just under three thousand people were killed.

September 11th not only marks a great tragedy, but a faliure of the government to protect its citizens. If the chaos brought
on by the attacks had been avoided by better preparation, the amount of lives lost would have been minimalized.
The duty of a government is to protect its citizens. The United States governemt failed in this because of a faliure to
listen. The hijackers were known FBI suspects, and should not have been allowed to board any plane at any U.S. airport. The
FAA also failed to notify the military about the crisis that unfolded. Amazingly, the military didn't hear about Flight 93
until after it had crashed.
